Chronic Absenteeism:

Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 15 or more days of school for any reason – including excused or unexcused absences. More than seven million students nationwide are chronically absent from school, putting them at risk academically. Starting as early as preschool and kindergarten, chronic absence erodes students’ ability to learn and achieve in school.
