Mr. Arnold Cox
Hello, my name is Arnold S Cox Sr. and I am the father of five and two extended children. Orlando, Arnold Jr., Ashley, Ariel, Andre, Courtney, and Mallory. I also have 6 grands; Ashton, Aiden, Qrionna, Aria, Courtlynn, and Faith. I am currently engaged to Tonia Westry and we plan to unite in matrimony within a year or so. My passion is for education and children. I have three brothers and two sisters. I am 56 years old and was raised in a two parent home until my mom passed away from cancer at the young age of 60. My dad is 87 and still lives in Bay Minette where we settled after he retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service.
I attended Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette, Alabama graduating May 1981. I attended the University of Alabama from 1982-84 where I was a walk-on in football and there at the passing of Coach Paul Bryant. I graduated from The University of South Alabama with a B.S. Liberal Arts degree in Administrative Sciences, Earning an M. Ed. in N-12 Special education from Alabama State University, Educational Leadership certification as well as post graduate work Ed.S st South Alabama. I am currently enrolled at Northcentral University Doctoral program working on my Ed D in Educational Leadership. Also pursuing my National Board Teacher Certification with the 2019-20 SARIC/Chickasaw City Schools cohort. I whole-heartedly believe that learning is a life-long journey!
I am a third generation educator/school administrator whose great grandfather, Stephen J. Boykin founded and started the first school for blacks in the late 1800's in Bay Minette, AL called Booker Industrial School.
