OCR Nondiscrimination Statement

Chickasaw City Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its program and activities and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups. 

Chickasaw City Schools promotes opportunities for gifted children as well as children with disabilities to participate in educational activities designed to facilitate maximum student achievement.

Chickasaw City Schools provides special education services for children with disabilities in accordance with the Individual with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, Amendments of 2004 and the Alabama Exceptional Child Education Act (Act 106).

Child Find services are employed to locate and provide appropriate educational and related services to all children with disabilities between the ages of Birth to 21.  

Services are available for students identified with the following exceptionalities: 

  • Autism
  • Deaf-Blindness
  • Developmental Delay
  • Emotional Disability
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Multiple Disabilities
  • Orthopedic Impairment
  • Other Health Impaired
  • Specific Learning Disability
  • Speech or Language Impairment
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Visual Impairment

 

Chickasaw City Schools also offers a Gifted Education Program.
