Welcome to the Chickasaw City School System where we are a “Magnet for Greatness!” 

Mrs. Odom came to the newly formed Chickasaw City School System in July 2012 as the Director of Federal Programs, System Test Coordinator and Director of Career and Technical Education. Kathy Odom was named Interim Superintendent of Chickasaw City Schools on August 11, 2015 and named Superintendent of Chickasaw City Schools on January 20, 2016. 

Mrs. Odom is a graduate of Murphy High school.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education from the University of South Alabama in 1987, a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Springhill College in 1996 and a Certification in Educational Leadership from the University of South Alabama in 2007.

  • 2001-2002- Florence Howard Elementary, Technology Coordinator/Title I Facilitator
  • 2002-2012 –Mobile County Central Office, Title I School Improvement Specialist
  • 2012-2016 Chickasaw City Schools, Director of Federal Programs, System Test Coordinator and Director of Career and Technical Education
  • 2016-Present – Chickasaw City Schools, Superintendent

 Mrs. Odom is married to her wonderful husband, Larry Odom and has 2 amazing sons: Shelby Irwin 26 and Will Irwin 21.
